STM32L100. Тактирование TIM9 от LSE

Прочитал, что TIM9 можно тактировать от LSE, но никак не могу понять как это сделать.

They can also be used as simple time bases and be clocked by the LSE clock source

RM говорит что есть 2 варианта.

External clock mode2: external trigger input (ETR connected internally to LSE)

Или
External clock mode1 (for TIM9): external input pin (TIx)
LSE internal clock is connected to the TIM9_CH1 input for measurement purposes
